Ayyaz Amjad (b. 1991) is a Pakistani-American artist; Videographer, Motion Designer and Animator with 10+ years of experience in Videography, Video Editing, Video Production, and Motion Graphic Design roles.
He completed his BFA in Kinetic Imaging with a concentration in Video, Animation, and Sound Art from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013.
Previously a Senior Videographer at Cvent (in McLean, VA), he advanced his skills in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Along with his demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of video production, editing, and post-production.
From 2014 – 2020, Ayyaz produced over 2K+ videos (with 1-2 day turnaround) that increased channel views, brand engagement, qualified sales leads, and increased tradeshow and customer event engagement/attendance year over year.
He is a highly collaborative and detail-oriented video marketer and project manager. Managing video assets and projects across Wistia, Vidyard, YouTube, Instagram, and multiple other social channels. At Cvent, Ayyaz proved his ROI by producing relevant, engaging, and entertaining video content on a global scale for the meetings and events industry including corporate videos, online ads, event coverage, promotional videos, globally live streamed events, and many more internal/external projects.
Talented behind a camera, he was also previously trained professionally in 3D animation and motion graphics while creating media related graphics that supported live news and live television broadcasts across the south-east United States.
Ayyaz Amjadʼs most notable video and animation work has been recognized by WUSA, NBC, the Associated Press, and the DC/MD/VA Chapter ALS Association. This includes:
ʻYou Donʼt Smoke Cigarettes, Cigarettes Smoke Youʼ, the 2012 national prize winner in the Surgeon Generalʼs ʻTobacco — Iʼm Not Buying Itʼ video competition.
ʻCvent ALS Ice Bucket Videoʼ, the 2015 ʻBest Corporate ALS Ice Bucket Videoʼ award winner from the ALS Association DC/MD/VA Chapter.
He’s also noted as the 2017 Platinum Award (Cultural Video) winner from the AVA Digital Awards for his co-production/editing/shooting of the ʻOur Cvent Storyʼ video. In 2011, Amjad was also awarded the 2011 Bronze Presidential Award for Volunteering as a creative designer at Islamic Relief, an international humanitarian relief organization.
Ayyaz Amjad, also known as AYZ. AYZ’s sound work is influenced by avant-garde art and hip-hop.
Notably, in 2015 Amjad performed in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. And together with a group of his peers, Amjad has performed a live notated video based sound performance at the 2012 InLight Richmond Festival.
AYZ is a hip-hop artist/rapper who released his first album/mixtape ʻConquest of the Inner Sanctumʼ in 2012 in which he notably worked together with producer Shawn Amjad. AYZ has performed at various events in Virginia and was also crowned as ʻMr. South Asia 2012ʼ VCU.
Born and raised in Virginia, Ayyaz explores the integration of Islamic, Pakistani and American culture by combining allegories from each society and exploring imagery that communicates the hybridity of his life experiences. He strives to: “capture life as art, synthesizing experimentation and new media to tell stories, memories, and dreams.”
Previously a Senior Videographer at Cvent in McLean, VA until 2020. Ayyaz Amjad resides in VA and is currently actively seeking new professional opportunities.
